Nylatron GS is an engineering plastic from the nylon family, specifically a cast polyamide modified with molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) to significantly improve its sliding and wear properties. This modification results in a material with a low coefficient of friction (0.35) and excellent wear resistance, making it ideal for moving parts in industrial machinery.

Dotmar supplies Nylatron GS in rod form, ready for machining into custom components. With a continuous service temperature range of -20°C to 80°C and a tensile strength of 95 MPa, it offers reliable performance in a variety of mechanical applications where lubrication-free operation is desired.

Key Features

  • Incorporated MoS2 filler for superior wear and friction properties
  • Low coefficient of friction: 0.35
  • Tensile strength: 95 MPa
  • Service temperature range: -20°C to 80°C
  • Medium resistance to chemicals
  • Available in rod format for precision machining

Nylatron GS is widely used in applications requiring low friction and good wear resistance, such as bearings, bushings, wear pads, gears, rollers, and sliding components. It is commonly found in materials handling equipment, mining machinery, automotive parts, and general industrial engineering where metal-to-metal contact is avoided.
