Ertalon LFX is an internally oil-lubricated cast nylon (PA6) engineered to deliver reliable friction and wear performance in demanding bearing and wear-part applications. The built-in lubricant is uniformly dispersed throughout the material, providing effective low-friction behaviour without the need for external grease or oil replenishment.

This grade combines the inherent toughness and machinability of nylon with a significantly reduced coefficient of friction, which helps control heat generation, dampens noise, and extends component service life. As part of the Ertalon range available from Dotmar, Ertalon LFX offers a practical solution where long-term dimensional stability and reduced stick-slip are critical design requirements.

Key Features

  • Internally oil-lubricated cast nylon (PA6) for dry-running or infrequently lubricated applications
  • Low coefficient of friction (0.2) minimises heat build-up and stick-slip
  • Suitable for use at continuous service temperatures up to 90 °C
  • Good tensile strength (73 MPa) for load-bearing structural parts
  • Available as stock rod and sheet for efficient machining
  • Medium chemical resistance, appropriate for moderate chemical environments

Ertalon LFX is typically specified for highly loaded bearings, wear pads, thrust washers, guide rails, and slide plates operating in conditions where external lubrication is difficult or undesirable. Common industry applications include materials handling, packaging machinery, agricultural equipment, and general mechanical engineering where reliable dry-running or marginally lubricated performance is needed.
