Techtron HPV PPS is a modified polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) grade formulated to deliver a unique combination of sliding performance and broad chemical resistance. It maintains useful mechanical properties across a wide temperature window, from cryogenic conditions to elevated service temperatures.
The material's inherently low coefficient of friction and good wear behaviour make it a suitable choice for dynamic applications where lubrication is impractical or undesirable. Dotmar supplies Techtron HPV PPS for demanding industrial environments where dimensional stability and long service life are critical.
Key Features
- Continuous service temperature from -20 °C to 220 °C
- Low coefficient of friction of 0.25 for reduced wear and stick-slip
- High chemical resistance to a wide range of aggressive media
- Tensile strength of 78 MPa at room temperature
- Low thermal expansion (50 x 10⁻⁶ K⁻¹) for tight-tolerance parts
Techtron HPV PPS is typically specified for sliding and rotating components such as bearings, bushings, thrust washers and seal rings operated in chemically aggressive or high-temperature fluids. It is also used in pump and valve components, precision spacers, and semiconductor wafer-handling parts. Common industries include chemical processing, fluid handling, automotive and aerospace.
